Wykoff Run Falls in the remote Quehanna Wild Area of Cameron County is an easy roadside waterfall and the perfect spot to stop for a rustic picnic.
Wykoff Run is a tributary to Sinnemahoning Creek that flows through a deep narrow gorge in the Quehanna Wild Area. Wykoff Run Falls is located at 41.267810, -78.153039 and is visible from the curvy Wykoff Run Rd. that traverses the gorge vine between Quehanna Highway and Rt. 120.

We approached from Quehanna Highway to the south, and descending the narrow gorge was a thrill in itself. There was a palpable sense of remoteness, broken only by the camps and cabins squeezed against Wykoff Run.

There is a pull-off right next to Wykoff Run Falls that can accommodate about half a dozen vehicles.

Although the water is only 3 or 4 feet tall, the setting under the woodland canopy against the slope of the gorge was invigoratingly picturesque. There is a path that runs above the falls for a few hundred feet to a small cascade. The flat clearings would make great streamside picnic spots.

There are multi-tiered rock shelves along the bank and submerged in the stream. These form V–shaped holes large enough for a dip in the cool water.

Wykoff Run Falls, though small is a picturesque and peaceful roadside stop. It wouldn’t be worth going to much out of the way just for it alone but is good for a pit stop excursion on the way to numerous other adventures in the area, such as:
